’tis the season again: The 30 Day Map Challenge by Topi Tjukanov is approaching. Started in 20191, the #30DayMapChallenge calls upon cartographers, spatial data scientists, and GIS experts to produce a map a day during the month of November2. Each day, the 30 Day Map Challenge issues a (often, loose) theme:
The archive features a selection of past works, if you are looking for inspiration. Some notable entries, include:
- The 2019 collection by Jo Wood, all done using LitVis and Vega-Lite and open-source
- The 2019 collection by Cédric Scherer, all done in R and open-source
- The 2021 collection by Achim Tack
- Meta-collections, for example by David Frigge and by Aurelien Chaumet
Whether participating or observing: A month of cartographic (and often data analysis) inspiration is coming.
