A while ago1, the Mapscaping podcast had an interview with Marco Bernasocchi, founder and CEO of OPENGIS.ch, chair of the QGIS Project Steering Committe and OSGeo board member. In the podcast episode, Marco Bernasocchi gives insight into the origins of QField and speaks about current developments around QField, QFieldCloud and QFieldSync, but also a bit more broadly about the open-source movement.

It’s really, really neat to see what our tool is doing worldwide, how much people are using it. I don’t know if I mentioned before, we have almost a million downloads and are doing 320,000 active users per month. And this number is only on Android. We don’t know about, obviously, MacOS, Linux, and Windows.
